I had the honor of being able to watch and follow the Chief after he left the court. These are photos taken in the tunnel and some in the dressing room after his final perfomance this season.

Ogala Luncheon

This was the scholarship luncheon hosted by the Council of Chiefs on September 9th in Champaign prior to the first home football game. The luncheon was to announce the creation of the Frank's Fools Crow Scholarship fund at the Ogala Lakota College in Kyle, South Dakota. College President Thomas Shortbull was in attendance.

The most recent Chief Illiniwek Tryouts were held in May of 2006 in Champaign. A bunch of former Chief plus school administrators helped to choose the new Chief, Dan Maloney, and his assistant Chief.

USA Basketball

I was fortunate to attend the USAB State Farm Challenge event in Las Vegas and spent time with some of the players and coaches. What a great event and let me tell you, almost every guy on the team is incredibly nice and considerate. Tear 'em up! Go USA!

How honest would you be?

Meet JP Hayes...who qualified for Q school, which is the qualifying school for the PGA tour. More than a day after he qualified for Q school, he realized that he was playing with an Illegal ball, called himself on it..thus disqualifying himself from Q school.

What did that mean? Losing exempt status from the entire 2009 PGA Season and adding on to already $7 million in career earings.

I've always been raised that integrity is what you do when no one is around. JP Hayes shows a level of integrity that is sorely missing these days. Good for him and I hope we all can follow in his example.
